The contemporary art market is one of the best-performing asset classes of the past 25 years. Its worst crisis since 2008 opens a historic entry window. Kastel arrives with a thesis, a method, and proof.
The window
−12% on the global art market in 2024, −71% on ultra-contemporary in two years, more than thirty galleries closed. Yet the segment of emerging living artists remains the only one growing. A rare entry window.
The method
Four artists selected out of one hundred, evaluated on ten criteria: market valuation, exhibitions, press, galleries, fairs. Each file goes through twelve to eighteen months of studio visits before any potential selection. The discipline of a serious VC fund.
The proof
For five years, the Kastel team tested the thesis on its private collection: eleven artists stewarded work by work. Quantitative elements are provided on request to qualified sophisticated investors, under a confidentiality undertaking.

Each partner artist goes through a demanding analysis grid: market valuation, institutional path, gallery and fair traction, quality of studio work. One to four signings per year, no more. The scarcity of the deal flow is the guarantee of its quality.
